A gentle Dom's view

Someone asked me to say something about collars.

Again, it is different for each relationship. There are also Doms who look down at their subs like they would at an animal. Pleased to have it, pleased to have its obedience - but somehow inferior to their own glory.

To me, that is not what a collar stands for. To me, it is a sign for a well founded relationship, you might compare it to wedding rings in the vanilla world. It is a reminder of whom she belongs to and if she wears it 24/7 (there are also more discreet ones for public use), it also shows her status to others. She is taken and nobody dare to separate her from her Dom. Therefore, a collar will only be placed on the sub’s neck after a considerable amount of time has passed and the two are sure they want to keep going on their common journey.

Besides, a good, solid collar has also many practical uses. The Dom can tie her wristcuffs or even anklecuffs to it; he can put a leash on it to guide her to places; he can hold onto it for a raw, animalistic fuck; he can fasten it to a ring on the wall to make her stay there; … A good collar offers many ways to have fun together without hurting her. Therefore, it needs to be wide enough to not strangle her but to dispense the pressure over a larger part of her neck than a small one would.
